This section attempts to explain the various types of media files used on this
site.
Alongside all the accessible media featured on this site is a
small icon, this indicates what sort of file you are linking to.
Some will be downloaded to your computer others will be loaded
up inside your browser. Listed also is the approximate size of
the file giving you a rough idea of how long it will take to view
the various files.
Below are explanations of the various icons:

A file format created by Adobe, initially to provide a
standard form for storing and editing printed publishable
documents. Because documents in .pdf format can easily be
seen and printed by users on a variety of computer and platform
types, they are very common on the internet. To view files
of this type download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader:

These files will loaded and viewed in your browser e.g.
Internet Explorer. Flash animations can feature video, music
and fast moving graphics. Browsers require the necessary
plug-ins to view then.
Flash Video is a file format used to deliver video quickly over the internet using Adobe Flash Player to stream (load in the background) the movie. The format has quickly established itself as the format of choice for embedded video on the web. Notable users of the Flash Video format include YouTube, Google Video and Yahoo! The WMA files featured on this site are movies. They are
generally large files and will take some time to download,
you will also probably require speakers as audio is featured.
They will need to be downloaded to your computer and viewed
in a Windows Media Player. This can be dowloaded free of

above or the free plugin which allows wmv files to be viewed
in the more stable Quicktime player.

files as one enitity. Once downloaded you will need to 'unzip'
the file by installing this free program (there are others
