Guild of Bricklayers Competition
Southern and Notts/
Lincolnshire Heats Held
Southern and the Notts/Lincolnshire regional heats of the Guild of Bricklayers competition for apprentices have now been held.
Senior winner of the Notts/Lincolnshire heat held at the Grimsby Institute was Jack Markham of Burton and South Derbyshire College while William Austin of Derby College took the junior title.
Sussex Downs College was the venue for the Southern competition and its student, Steven Tate, was the senior winner. James Roberts of Northbrook College took the junior title.
Tarmac supplied the mortar for both competitions on behalf of national competition sponsors, the Mortar Industry Association.
