CEMEX mortar scores a success at Chesterfield
Chesterfield FC’s new b2net stadium is sporting a special CEMEX coloured mortar as the club moves into a new football season.
CEMEX supplied 350 tonnes of its M4 Black D and Natural coloured mortar to the
club’s new £13 million 10,400 capacity all-seater stadium located a mile and a half to
the north of the city centre.
The stadium’s design moves away from the uniform oval shape used at so many modern stadia. Instead, the architects have followed a more traditional style, incorporating free-standing stands with old-style floodlight in each corner. G B Solutions and the architects, Ward McHugh
Associates, selected a red brick with black fleck that is complemented by the CEMEX
black mortar.
This, with the glass used at the stadium’s main entrance, sets the building
off superbly. CEMEX also provided the M12 Natural below dpc mortar for the ground
works.
