Major south east development calls for silo mortars

Factory-produced mortar from CPI EuroMix is playing a major role in helping build a variety of projects within Kings Hill, said to be one of the south east’s largest developments of recent years.

The development in Kent has outline planning consent for 92,902 sq m (one million sq ft) of office and business space, approximately 65,032 sq m (700,000 sq ft) occupied by over 100 businesses, a university, two primary schools, a day nursery, leisure and retail facilities and a residential community with consent for over 2,600 homes.

CPI has supplied mortar to the majority of housing sites at Kings Hill. Its core product, the silo mixing station, is one of the industry’s simplest yet efficient production tools. A silo capable of storing up to 35 tonnes of dry factory-mixed material is delivered to site and once connected to water and power, a constant supply of high quality mortar is available at the push of a button.

As required, the silo is simply refilled by one of CPI’s tankers ensuring a constant supply of correctly mixed mortar and effectively eliminating site wastage.

CPI reports the silo system was selected by house builders on the Kings Hill residential area due to its reliability, time and money saving benefits and reduced wastage guarantees.

The Kings Hill development is due for completion in 2009.
