Case studies
Fremlin Walk, Maidstone
Developers Centros Miller and main contractors Miller Construction were faced with very little on-site space and the challenge of vast amounts of brickwork to be completed against strict construction deadlines.
The CPI silo mixing station can hold up to 30 tonnes of pre-mixed dry mortar, which is discharged directly into a tub on site. Once connected to a power and water supply, mortar is instantly provided at the push of a button.
With a host of 45 new shops and an 800-space car parking facility located beneath its department store, the pedestrianised centre will make Maidstone one of the top 50 shopping locations in the country, when it is opened in March 2005.
“It provides the ideal solution for our brickwork requirements. We are guaranteed a constant supply of mortar, enabling us to maintain optimum site construction speed.” Mark Bell, Mark Bell Brickwork
