Davlyn was contracted to work on a redevelopment project in Croydon, requiring a dark brown coloured mortar.

Dave Swift says: "I wasn’t confident that the labourers would be able to site-batch the required amount of pigmented mortar to the same colour consistency.

I thought that there would be some colour variance, which could, at worst, result in getting the brickwork rejected.

Another big advantage is that because the mortar is delivered in skips, it saves time and labour, but there is also less waste."
